{"id":32,"date":"2018-08-21T10:15:32","date_gmt":"2018-08-21T10:15:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nottinghamsnooker.com\/history\/?page_id=32"},"modified":"2018-08-27T22:34:53","modified_gmt":"2018-08-27T21:34:53","slug":"evacuees","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/gothamhistory.org.uk\/?page_id=32","title":{"rendered":"Evacuees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During the Second World War (1939-45) about 200 children with teachers and in some cases mothers, were evacuated from their home towns and billeted here with Gotham families. The movement of children to rural areas was undertaken primary as protection from potentially harmful enemy bombing at main centres of population and production.
